About the Event

Midland District are running an initial set of developmental sessions to bring our younger swimmers together for a relaxed fun session to promote competitive swimming in our area. It will give them the opportunity to learn with swimmers, and from coaches in other clubs in the district. The session will be based around good stroke technique, in 2 of the 4 strokes as well as underwater work and other vital skills. The sessions are designed for swimmers between 9 and 12years (age dec 23) and they should be able to swim 3 lengths of all strokes (except fly) in a reasonable fashion, they need not be technically legal in all aspects of competitive swimming but keenness to learn and enjoy their sport would be advantageous!  Alongside the swimming session we propose to run an informal session for parents and or carers to look at various relevant topics including the swimming pathway, gala structure, technical official roles, volunteering as well as an opportunity to ask questions. Swimmers and adults should register in the relevant session in their area
