The next District Delegates meeting and the Scottish Swimming Consultation meeting, both scheduled for 20/04/20, along with our AGM scheduled for Monday 1st June have all been cancelled due to the current COVID-19 situation.
The AGM will be re-scheduled once the current restrictions are lifted; in the meantime, the District Executive/Convenors/post-holders/committees etc will remain in post until such time as the AGM is able to be held. If anyone feels unable to continue on this basis please get in touch with a member of the District Executive to advise.
Midland District Executive feel it is very important to remain in contact with Clubs and members over this difficult period. We therefore intend to hold an online video call using Zoom. This we have scheduled for Monday 27th April 2020 at 7pm
Each club is encouraged to participate in the online discussion but we need to limit this to a maximum of 4 persons per club. It would however be great to welcome other members from your club as well as your normal representatives – perhaps even some of your senior athletes.
Inline with our constitution, we can not formally adopt any decisions made at the online discussion - they would need to be ratified and backdated at the next face to face meeting. However, our hopes are that an online meeting during this difficult time will help to bring everyone in our District together; that it will allow us to keep in touch; and enable us to share information on how clubs are engaging with their swimmers, divers & water polo players over this period. It will also give us all a chance to explore our use of technology (for some this maybe more challenging than for others) as a medium for interaction with members, athletes, etc
Arrangements for joining the online meeting along with guidance on action required and the agenda will be forwarded nearer the date – in the interim please put the date and time in your diary – Monday 27th April 7pm.
