Have Your Say!!!

Updated: Mar 8, 2020

To all Midland District affiliated Clubs and members

We are currently in the last year of Scottish Swimming’s current Corporate Plan (please see link)https://www.scottishswimming.com/media/1410135/CorporatePlan2015_2021Web.pdf .

This year Scottish Swimming are due to write a new Corporate Plan to direct the organisation and their activities for the next 8 years. This document will provide direction for Scottish Swimming’s governance; it’s ethos, delivery, culture… everything.

As a District we have one opportunity to provide input into this process.

We would therefore  ask everyone who is involved in the delivery of our sport, whether swimmer, parent, coach, committee, former member or just passionate observer to come along to a consultation event. Whether you feel that we are doing the right thing or the wrong thing, your input will be valuable.

Do you see competition as important? Do you see learn to swim as important? Do you see mass participation as important? Do you see diversity and inclusivity as important? What do you see as the important drivers to our sport over the next 8 years?

We will be holding the consultation event on the 20th of April in Dundee (provisionally at 7.30 pm at the Circle,4-6 Staffa Pl, Dundee DD2 3SX, subject to confirmation), it will follow on from the delegates meeting which will start at  6pm. We would envisage that the consultation event will last 1.5 hours, it will be chaired by Graeme Doig from Scottish Swimming.

You can attend both meetings or just come along for the Consultation event. You can just turn up on the day but it would be really helpful if you could give us an indication of your intention to attend (if only so that we can make sure we have a enough chairs and biscuits).

This is really important, it is a real opportunity to get your voice heard.
